My last posted showed you how to auto connect your MTN BIS and VPN software to keep you online for longer periods of time. Yet some people need help setting up the BIS connection on their PC's. Below are the steps needed to get you online and browsing in no time.
Modem Configuration
- Create a new profile with the name MTN BIS
Click on Settings in the bottom right hand corner
Click the add button to create a new profile
Fill out the connection profile as seen above and press save.
Use blackberry.net as the APN.
Use *99# as Access number
Username and password should be "web" or it can be left blank
Highlight the newly crated profile by clicking on it and then select apply and close
Subscribe to an MTN Blackberry plan
- For 1 week plan, text BBCWEEK to 21600 - costs N 400
- For 1 month plan, text BBC to 21600 - costs N 1,000
- For 1 daily plan, text BBCDAY to 21600 - costs N 100
And before you ask, yes there is a data cap. But the good news is that it is about 3.5GB for all three of the packages so no matter which package you subscribe for you will get your 3.5GB data allowance. Personally i make use of the BBCDAY cause if you do the math it gives you over 100GB per month and for even a heavy downloader such as myself that's more than i can handle. It will run you about 3K per month plus between N 500 and N1000 for a VPN service but its well worth it in my opinion. Also another benefit of BBCDAY is that you only pay on the days you need internet and in case the cheat gets blocked you have not flushed 1,000 down the drain.
